Dragonflies News
On Wednesday 24th November it was No Pens Day Wednesday. We looked a piece of art work by Kandinsky called ‘Squares and Concentric Circles’. The children enjoyed taking part in lots of activities to create representations of this art work using different materials. These activities included using paint and yoghurt pots to print different sized circles, cutting different sized coloured circles from play dough, cutting different size circles from paper and sticking them on top of each other. We also used loose parts including buttons and bottle tops. We also painted coloured icing circles on biscuits. Well done Dragonflies you were all amazing artists and made some fantastic art work.
We had great fun on Friday 19th November celebrating Children in a Need. All the children looked amazing in their spots and stripes. Thank you so much for your donations. We had a day full on Pudsey themed activities. We listened to a story about Pudsey and enjoyed dancing to some music. Other activities included colouring and painting Pudsey pictures, making Pudsey masks and headbands. We also used loose parts to create a giant Pudsey face. The focus children made some spotty currant buns in the morning which we all enjoyed eating in the afternoon. What a fun day we had!
On Thursday 18th November in the morning we enjoyed a lovely Autumn Walk. We pulled on our wellies, put on our coats and hi vis jackets and set off on our walk. We noticed lots of signs of Autumn including falling leaves, leaves of different colours - red, yellow, orange and berries on the trees. We had great fun when we stopped on the bridge and waved at the traffic - lots of cars beeped their horns as they drove past. The children behaved really well and were very safe on the walk. Well done Dragonflies.
